On July 29, 2024, the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh formally deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (commonly known as the Apostille Convention) with the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH). This marks Bangladesh as the newest member state of the Convention. According to the Convention’s provisions, it will enter into force for Bangladesh on March 30, 2025.

Confirm Document Type and Destination Requirements

As international activities become more frequent, the need for cross-border document use continues to grow. To simplify procedures, improve efficiency, and reduce costs, the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (hereinafter referred to as the “Convention”) officially entered into force in China on November 7, 2023.

On March 8, 2023, China officially acceded to the Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (hereinafter referred to as the “Convention”). The Convention officially entered into force for China on November 7, 2023.
